Position Purpose

  • Is to recruit and develop a highly skilled workforce that helps grow Transnet business in order to improve productivity, profitability, and an employer's bottom line. As part of Transnet Human Capital Development Strategy, Transnet Academy is offering comprehensive apprenticeship training to learners to be trained as artisans in different fields and locations.

Position Outputs

  • Mechanical fault finding and repairs to electrohydraulic machines including motorised equipment
  • Conduct PM’s and report on defects
  • Installations of machines in the workshops
  • Mechanical overhaul, modifications, upgrade of machines and equipment
  • Repair and maintenance of all buildings and machines

About You:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • NQF Level 3, Grade 11 or 12 Mathematic and Physical Science., (Added Advantage: Engineering Graphics design and Civil Technology) or N2 With Woodwork theory/ Carpentry Theory, Building Science, Mathematics and Building Drawing. All subjects passed as 50% or above

This is only a training and development opportunity. • Applicants are required to clearly indicate their area of preference for training as shortlisting and selection will be done at various locations.
