Job Advert Summary
To assist qualified Diesel Mechanics in response to planned and un-planned work in order to ensure a high level of plant equipment reliability and availability. Adhere to SHE, legal, statutory and regulatory structures and frameworks and promote a culture of compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES:
- World class availability, reliability and serviceability of plant, equipment, and tools
- Achieve acceptable service quality
- Optimise asset usage and performance (availability & reliability)
- Ensure high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Application of company best practices / engineering standards (ACP’s / Risk Assessments)
- Maintain housekeeping, safety, health and environmental standards (SHEQ compliance)
- Comply with all approved business processes and Engineering Standards.
- Comply with all relevant legislative standards
OTHER/BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCE:
- Strong inclination to technical, root cause identification and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to harsh working environments
- Be highly organized
- Willing to work overtime and do standby duties
- Pro-active, self-disciplined and solution driven
About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics
- Valid Driver’s license
- N1 with Previous experience in automotive type of work will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 - 5 years relevant artisan in a Heavy engineering Industrial and/or manufacturing environment
- Working in a heavy mining industry will be an advantage
- Exposure/experience of engines/hydraulics/drive-trains/transmissions
- Computer literate
