Description
PURPOSE
To assist in ensuring efficient operations of the Plant against set objectives, thus maintenance of the Plant. Assist in attending breakdowns as and when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance
- Create job cards.
- Inspect equipment in a working area.
- Perform fault-finding on centrifugal pumps, electrical motors, diesel engines, hydraulic systems.
- Perform general and process maintenance/repairs – electrical/ mechanical.
- Execute planned and routine maintenance tasks.
- Perform quality assurance inspections on service providers.
- Execute Engineering work as planned.
Health and Safety
- Promote safety performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and planned task observations.
- Ensure Mine Health and Safety compliance.
- Maintain company and client safety policy and procedure requirements.
- Investigate and report all incidents.
Operations
- Assist to operate the Plant when required.
- Monitor Plant performance to obtain optimum production.
- Manage spares.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Rectify process deficiencies.
- Advise operations on sub-standard practices.
Performed Administration
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used and any issues encountered.
- Compile all reports regarding safety, production, quality control and maintenance.
About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Trade Test Certificate in Millwright (MQA / Merseta preferred)
- Grade 12 or N3 Engineering Studies
EXPERIENCE
- Previous mining / production / construction environment exposure (preferable)
- Good working knowledge of star/delta starters and VSD systems
- Experience on internal combustion engines (diesel)
- Minimum five years experience as a qualified Millwright
- PLC basic programming experience and field application
