Description

To assist operations where DOZER/ ROLLER/ FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck are required to make the operating environment safer and more convenient by excavating trenches, cleaning spillages, connecting pipes, and construction of deposition wall and maintenance of access roads.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Requirements

1. Operation of additional equipment such as FEL, TLB Excavator, ADT, Grader and Water Truck when required.
2. Load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam.
3. Ensure that relevant the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the specific machine are followed at all times.
4. Responsible for general housekeeping of the machine.
5. Adhere to safety rules and regulations.
6. Maintain access roads and connect pipes.
7. Assist in building and maintaining deposition walls.
8. Primary operation of Dozer and Roller.

Equipment

1. Complete pre-shift inspection report at the beginning of every shift and report all faults and problems to the Supervisor.
2. Inspect the equipment (machine) and the working area.

Operator Maintenance

1. Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM operator manual specifications.
2. Always ensure cleanliness of machine.
3. Maintain fuel levels in the machine.
4. Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when required.
5. Ensure lubrication as per OEM specifications.
6. Check condition of the machine.

About You:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Grade 12.
2. FEL, TLB, Excavator, ADT, Grader and Water Truck Competency Certificates will be advantageous.Dozer and Roller Competency Certificate required.
3. Valid MQA accredited Dozer and Roller Competency Certificate required.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2-3 years experience operating a Dozer and/or Roller in an earthmoving or tailings environment.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Safety oriented.
2. Action oriented.
3. Planning & Problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to operate independently.
5. Communication skills (verbal & written).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.
2. Valid Code 10 driver’s licence.
3. Must be physically, medically and mentally fit in accordance with company and/or client standards.
4. Successful completion of Dover test.
5. Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.
6. Availability to work overtime when necessary.
7. Successful completion of Dover test.
