Description
PURPOSE
To provide general site assistance and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the supervisor to achieve the planned operational targets.
- Planning and managing the water sites.
- Assist with problem-solving on operational challenges and report any deviations to the immediate supervisor.
- Adherence to all procedures in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Cleaning of screens, grit channels, anoxic, aeration, clarifier, chlorine contact channel and sump basins.
- Conduct testing and recording MLSS, DSVI, RAS, SS, PH, DO, free and total chlorine, flow meter reading, screens, grit and breakdowns.
- Removing all dry sludge from drying beds and all other wastes.
- Check chlorine dosing and available stock levels.
- Opening and closing of valves in line with operational lines.
- Adherence to all safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislation and company procedures.
- Participate in all toolbox talks, risk assessments, Planned Task Observations and safety meetings.
- Perform daily inspections in the designated area of responsibility.
About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.Wastewater and water certificates will be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of one years’ experience preferably having worked in a wastewater treatment environment.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Teamwork and observant.
- Good listening skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good planning and organising.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be medically fit as per company and/or client standards.
- May be required to work overtime from time to time.
- Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.
- May be expected to work rotating shifts.
