Job Advert Summary
Supreme Processing is seeking an experienced Millwright Artisan to join our Further Processing Plant. The successful candidate will support production reliability by ensuring machinery and utilities are maintained at optimal performance levels. This role is critical in minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production.
About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- • Ability to troubleshoot in fast-paced production environments
- • Knowledge of job card systems, maintenance planning, and work prioritization
- • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
- • Qualified Millwright (Red Seal) – mandatory
- • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a millwright, preferably in poultry/food manufacturing/FMCG
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical Maintenance
- • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation on production equipment, conveyors, coating machines, freezers, Fryers, cookers, and packaging equipment.
- • Inspect and maintain refrigeration units, compressed air systems, and utilities essential to production.
- • Conduct breakdown repairs urgently to minimize production downtime.
- • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance tasks and ensure job cards are closed out weekly.
- • Conduct fault finding on electrical control systems, PLC-driven systems, sensors, motors, and VSDs.
- • Execute routine and preventative maintenance according to schedules and job cards.
Compliance & Safety
- • Adhere to bio-security protocols and site hygiene standards at all times.
- • Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures and participate in SHE meetings when required.
- • Ensure work is completed in line with food safety/FSSC, and health and safety requirements.
Administration & Team Support
- • Work closely with production teams to resolve equipment issues and recommend improvements.
- • Be available for standby, overtime, weekend work, and call-outs when operationally required.
- • Assist with co-ordination of maintenance planning, spare parts requirements, and inventory control.
