Purpose of Job
- Function is the primary technical problem solver within the Americas producing assets
- Provides technical leadership or support to ensure all producing assets are capable of meeting all SHE requirements, are competitively efficient, and are reliable
- Focused on effectiveness and efficiency of function
- Manages capital projects within the platform
- Supports Operations to ensure plants are efficiently and effectively operated.
- Leads technical/engineering/projects/turnaround function within the US
Key Accountabilities
Portfolio responsible for:
- Develops talent to serve both the Technical Services function as well as the talent pipeline for other functions within Sasol
- Process Control and Automation
- Engineering
- Responsible to drive technical profit improvement initiatives, sharing of best practices, and benchmarking studies
- Reliability
- Capital projects, budget, and portfolio management within US
- Expense project management for those projects managed by this function
- TurnaroundsProcess Support for all producing assets
- Accountable for compliance to capital project governance processes and the governance/compliance with engineering and construction standards, as required
Formal Education
- University Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Working Experience
- Experience: 10+ relevant years
About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Process Safety knowledge
- Project development and execution experience
- good IT skills (MS-Office, SAP etc.)
- Chemical industry experience (products, applications, processes)
- Fluent English (written & spoken) and very good communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent Safety Management experience
- Extensive experience in the Maintenance of chemical plants
