Solar Capital Orange Bursary Programme
- Solar Capital Orange invites qualifying students from towns in the Hantam District; namely Loeriesfontein, Nieuwoudtville, Calvinia, Brandvlei and surrounding areas who will be selected to be beneficiaries of the Solar Capital Orange Bursary Programme to study at a South African public tertiary institution (FETCs, Universities of Technology and Universities). The bursary covers the duration of your degree.
Who can apply
- Only applications from present students at South African public tertiary institutions of higher learning, or students who will commence with their study programmes in January 2025, who live in the Hantam District; namely Loeriesfontein, Nieuwoudtville, Calvinia, Brandvlei and surrounding areas.
Bursary details
- The value of the bursary will be determined on an individual basis and may be used to cover the following study-related cost items:
- Learning materials (textbooks, stationary, etc.)
- Accommodation in an institution residence or equivalent
- Meals
- Institution tuition fees, registration fees and examination fees

Selection Criteria
- The main criteria used in the selection of successful applicants to the Solar Capital Orange bursary are as follows:
- Financial need: Applicants must be able to demonstrate that the combined family income (gross) does not exceed R350,000 p/a.
- Academic excellence – Selection will be done on the basis of Grade 12 and/or tertiary academic record.
